A bit about me
Joe is the current headteacher of Cedars Academy and headteacher representative on the Board of Trustees. He has a wealth of experience, having worked across a number of schools in the West Midlands over the past 20 years. He was the headteacher of Robin Hood Academy (founding school), but for the past four years has provided leadership support to a number of schools within Birmingham.
Using an evidence based, developmental approach Joe has a track record of picking up schools either in special measures or on the brink; lifting staff morale through providing a clear vision and culture of positivity.
Under his leadership, schools have increased capacity and teaching teams have moved forwards, becoming outward facing and effective. Joe has a strong moral purpose and core, with a steely determination to ensure that all children in Birmingham get a good deal in education.
Before his career in teaching, Joe worked as a pâtissier and following his degree worked in the pharmaceutical industry before finding his vocation. He started teaching in the late nineties and was lucky enough to cut his teeth in an outstanding school with Beacon status, which fuelled his passion for school to school partnership work.
